Proudfoot Supermarkets Voted "Retailer Of The Year" 2014

The spotlight shone on business from across the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale at a glittering awards ceremony at The Spa.

Hundreds packed out the Ocean Room to celebrate the myriad of fine businesses, large and small, that make up our region in the first ever Scarborough Business Awards, sponsored by Senior Glass Systems.

The Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Barry Dodd CBE, was the guest of honour and Chancellor George Osborne also sent a special message, which was read out by Scarborough and Whitby MP Robert Goodwill.

BBC Look North’s Clare Frisby compered the ceremony along with The Scarborough News, Whitby Gazette and Malton and Pickering Mercury editor Ed Asquith.
