Proudfoot Group Wins Top Award

The Proudfoot Group was presented with the inaugural Making A Difference Locally Award at the 2013 Nisa Member and Supplier Awards which took place at Stoneleigh Park on Tuesday 9th April.

Proudfoots were awarded the accolade for its continued support of the Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity and its outstanding contribution to the local community through supporting local events and making regular donations to local charities and good causes.

The evening, which was hosted by comedian Patrick Monahan, celebrated Nisa retailers that have demonstrated excellence in the last year and the awards covered a range of categories including Best Supermarket Store, Best Fresh Food Store and Best Forecourt Store.

Store owners Mark and Ian Proudfoot collected the award alongside buying and distribution controller Valerie Aston, who makes a huge effort to promote the MADL charity and select local charities and good causes to benefit from donations.

In the last year The Proudfoot Group has donated over £6,800 using MADL funds to more than 20 charities and good causes in and around Scarborough and is always looking for further good causes to make donations to. Previous donations have been made to Scarborough Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Fund, Sidewalk Youth Project, Freeman Heart & Lung Transplant Association and NSPCC Scalby as well as many others.

Valerie commented, “We are absolutely thrilled to have received this award from Nisa. We pride ourselves and are valued on being a community retailer and with the support of the Making A Difference Locally charity we are able to give back to the people that shop in store and the good causes that matter the most to them.”
