The Proudfoot Group have donated £500 to FirstLight Trust.

 

Making a Difference Locally (MADL) raises money to be donated to good causes in the local area from the sale of items from Nisa’s own-label Heritage range and a number of branded products in store. A percentage of the sale cost of these items then goes into a virtual fund to be donated to local charities and good causes of the store owners’ choice.

 

FirstLight Trust supports military veterans by giving physical and psychological aid to enable them to integrate more easily to the local community. The Trust are in the process of opening a second centre in Scarborough which is to include a café, and the donation received from the Proudfoot Group will be used to buy kitchen equipment to help veterans learn barista and baking skills.

A spokesperson for the FirstLight Trust said: “We are currently expanding our operations to provide more support and deliver skills training. The donation from Making a Difference Locally comes at the right time to really help with the final equipment costs for the new premises, which will make a tremendous difference to the work we do.”

 

The Proudfoot Group donated a total of £4,800 to good causes in 2015 through Making a Difference Locally.
