MADL 3 Local Causes
The Proudfoot Group has donated £700 from funds raised in its stores, to three worthy causes in the local community that rely on public funding.
The independently run stores located in Newby, Eastfield and Seamer districts raised the monies through their membership of Nisa and its Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity. Over the past two years The Proudfoot Group has donated nearly £13,000.
The worthy causes benefitting are Lindhead Out of School Club and York Teaching Hospital Charity – Snowdrop Appeal with £250 each and Scarborough (Eastfield) Scout Group with £200.
York Teaching Hospital Charity at Scarborough Hospital will put the donation towards the Snowdrop Appeal to create a maternity bereavement suite to allow comfort, privacy and time for parents who have experienced stillbirth or serious problems in pregnancy.
The Lindhead Out of School Club has put the donation towards upgrading the children’s play area space which cost in the region of £1,251.
The 49th Scarborough (Eastfield) Scout Group will use this money to purchase an amplifier, microphone and speaker to use at scout led events.
Valerie Aston, of The Proudfoot Group, said: “We are delighted to make these three donations because the charities and good causes will truly benefit from the funding. As a retailer it is vital to be at the heart of the community and we can do this by supporting them through Making A Difference Locally Charity.”
