Proudfoot Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Donation

Proudfoot celebrate £200,000 donation milestone

The Proudfoot Group have now donated over £200,000 to local community causes in the Scarborough area through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity.

Recently, The Proudfoot Group have made donations to Eastfield Juniors Football Club, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and 42nd St Marks Scouts Group alongside contributions to Scarborough Swimming Club and Scarborough Sea Cadets.

The milestone follows a £1,000 donation to the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team with the funds to be used to purchase a new first aid/events shelter, enhancing the team's ability to respond to emergencies and support events in the community.

Proudfoot representative and MADL board trustee Valerie Aston presented the donation to the team at Adderstones. The presentation coincided with the Dalby Inferno event, allowing Valerie to witness the new shelter in action.

MADL is part of Nisa’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Since its inception in 2008, MADL has donated over £17 million to local charities and community organisations.

MADL raises funds in Nisa partner stores from sales of all Co-op own-label products, with a percentage going into a virtual fund for retailers to donate. Additional funds can also be raised via in-store collecting tins and clothing banks.

Kate Carroll, head of charity at Nisa, said: “The Proudfoot Group are fantastic ambassadors for MADL and I’m so proud to see them reach the £200,000 milestone through MADL donations. Proudfoots have improved the lives of so many people in the Scarborough area and continue to make significant contribution such as their recent mountain rescue donation. Huge congratulations to Proudfoots and we can’t wait to keep working with you on future projects.”

Valerie Aston, director at The Proudfoot Group, added: “Community work is at the heart of what we do at The Proudfoot Group and our partnership with MADL has been brilliant for the local area. Our customers know that the money they spend instore is going straight back to those community causes which need it most and we’re so proud to have hit the £200,000 milestone. There is so much more to come but it is nice to reflect on such a brilliant initiative between The Proudfoot Group and MADL.”
