'Chair for Chats' Bench Donated in Crossgates

During World Mental Health Awareness Week, Proudfoot Supermarkets have donated a ‘Chair for Chats’ Bench to Seamer Parish Council, sited on the green space at Crossgates, Scarborough.

The aim is to help to promote conversation within the community, to bring people together, combat loneliness and help everyone spend time together outside in nature.

Valerie Aston met with Cllr Lynda Wallis, Chairman of Seamer Parish Council, yesterday to present the plaque to be sited on the bench, which is on the green space at the top of Curlew Drive, Crossgates, Scarborough.

Valerie Aston, director at the Proudfoot Group, added: “We are delighted to be able to use our Making a Difference Locally funds to support good causes in our area local area.

Using these funds to offer a space where people can meet, talk and enjoy the outdoors is so important and we are pleased we have been able to work with Seamer Parish Council to make this happen.

“We would like to thank our customers for their continued support, through the in-store collecting tins and purchases of Co-op products in our stores; as without their support these community donations would not be possible.”
