Barrowcliff Community Choir, which meets in St Mark's Church community hall, received a donation from Proudfoots' Making a Difference Locally Fund.

The choir began in spring 2012, the brainchild of the Recs Mike Leigh and Clare Stainsby, and the money will help maintain choir expert Rebecca Gross's valuable service, developing the choir even further.

Valerie Aston, of the Proudfoot Group, said "It is an excellent project that involves all members of the local community coming together to bring positive community spirit." The cheque is held by choir members, nine-year-old twins Cienna, left, and Ella Keld, with other choir members looking on.
