Proudfoot Help Row Brow Field Archery Club Fundraising
Row Brow Field Archery Club have received a charitable donation of £500 from Proudfoot supermarkets this month to help purchase a new storage shed
The family-run Proudfoot supermarket group supported the club through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity, which raises funds from the sale of Heritage and Co-op own label products, in addition to funds raised via the four supermarkets’ in-store collecting tins.
Jean Greenway from Row Brow Field Archery Club said: “At the moment we have thirty plus members ranging in age from nine to 80 and have a number of family membership groups e.g. a Mum, Dad and two daughters, Dad with son and daughter and several family related members.
“Field archery is ideal as a family sport where members may shoot together. It is also great for physical exercise - our course involves working through woodland to find set targets and can take several hours to complete.
“Our membership will expand considerably in the Spring when we have completed course construction and are able to accept more archers into our ranks. Three dimensional targets used (wild boar, stag, wolf etc.) cost around three hundred pounds each so we can only expand our course as we collect money from membership fees and donations.
“This very welcome donation will enable us to add to our club cabin fund which is much needed as a base to store equipment and as a meeting place.”
Valerie Aston, director at the Proudfoot Group, added: “We are delighted to be able to use our Making a Difference Locally funds to support good causes like this in the local area.
“We would like to thank our customers for their continued support, through the in-store collecting tins and purchases of selected products in our stores; as without their support these community donations would not be possible.”
