Proudfoot Donation To 49th Eastfield Scout Group

Proudfoot supermarkets help heat up the hut for 49th Scarborough (Eastfield) Scout Group

49th Scarborough (Eastfield) Scout Group have received a charitable donation from Proudfoot supermarkets this month to go towards new heating for the Scout hut.

The Scarborough supermarket group supported the local cause with a donation of £250 through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity, which raises funds from the sale of Heritage own label products and branded items featured on the Proudfoot promotional leaflet, in addition to funds raised via the four supermarkets’ in-store collecting tins.

The Scout group comprises around 78 children from 6-17 years old and are raising money for new heating, as it is “over 25 years old” and not as efficient as it could be. The hut is also rented out to the local community, so new heating will make a big difference to anyone visiting, such as when holding a children's party.

Linda Pennock of the group said: “We hope we make quite a bit of difference to local children as the group helps with team building, plus gives some the chance to go away on camps. As it's our own building we are always fundraising to keep it in good order.”

Valerie Aston, director at the Proudfoot Group, added: “We are delighted to be able to use our Making a Difference Locally funds to support 49th Scarborough (Eastfield) Scout Group.

“We would like to thank our customers for their continued support, through the in-store collecting tins and purchases of selected products in our stores; as without their support these community donations would not be possible.”
