The Proudfoot Newby store has won two prestigious Yorkshire In Bloom 2017 awards!

The Proudfoot Group’s flagship Scarborough store won the coveted Gold Award and overall Category Winner for Best Large Business for its floral displays around the premises, collecting the award for the third consecutive year, having triumphed in 2015 and 2016.

The judges of the award commented:

"Overall Impression - Proudfoot Supermarket at Newby is situated on the busy Whitby to Scarborough Road and attracts much attention from passing traffic and local residents alike. The flower baskets and mangers are of an excellent quality and are placed on three sides of the building. There is ample advertising of the Yorkshire in Bloom Competition and the company are extremely supportive of local community groups throughout the area. An excellent entry with a definite WOW factor."

Located in the heart of Newby, the local supermarket is the largest of four Proudfoot stores based in the Yorkshire region, sitting on a site of 15,000 square feet. The store has won many awards for its service over the years, and recently received two awards from Newby & Scalby In Bloom, presented with the Gold Award and Joint Category Winner for Retail Business Premises, as well as the Outstanding Contribution Certificate for support of the local community.
