MADL Local Charities & Groups

The Proudfoot Group were proud to present 3 Making A Difference Locally cheques to 3 local causes!

Animated Object Theatre Group is a small scale theatre company, who specialise in work involving young people and the wider community, through the use of puppetry and outdoor performance events and workshops. The fund is to help with an upcoming project, titled ‘Orpheus the Mariner’, which is to be staged in Scarborough on the 14th and 15th of February 2014. The intended performance will be a vast spectacle involving potentially hundreds of people from different generations of the local community as makers, performers or volunteers.

Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind supports 100’s of people with mental health problems each year to step onto the road to recovery and, unlike many organisations, nearly all of their staff and volunteers have mental health problems. The fund will help towards the publication of a quarterly newsletter full of useful information and supportive content to be sent to all members across the Scarborough area.

Staxton Village Hall is run by a dedicated and hard working committee that offers many activities to bring the community together. Their aim is to maintain and provide a welcoming centre for everyone, and encourage community spirit. The fund will help towards the purchasing of new kitchen equipment to continue their successful monthly lunches.

Marcus Proudfoot added, “We are delighted to help support all three of these local charity and support groups. The support that these groups offer to our local community is vital. We at The Proudfoot Group would like to encourage local good causes to come forward and apply to our Making A Difference Locally scheme”.
